COVETED FURNISHINGS+OBJECTS / Vintage Eames Red Aniline LCW Lounge Chair

Vintage Eames Red Aniline LCW Lounge Chair
Design Charles and Ray Eames
Red Aniline LCW (Lounge Chair Wood Base)
Vintage Original 1950's
manufactured by Evans Plywood
22" w | 24.25" d | 26.5" h | seat: 15.5" h

Designers Charles and Ray Eames established their long and legendary relationship with Herman Miller in 1946 with the boldly original molded plywood dining and lounge chairs. Designed to comfortably fit the body, the sculpted form of the molded plywood chairs are produced using thin sheets of lightweight veneer gently molded into curved shapes with natural rubber shock mounts to absorb movement. Since then, the chairs' aesthetic integrity, enduring charm, and comfort have earned it recognition as the best of modern design.

This particular example is a rare red aniline lounge, the lounge version of course being rare, and red aniline possibly one of the rarest versions. This chair has been fully restored having arrived in a sad state. The chair features a lustrous aniline finish, undertaken in the original method; please note our painstaking attention to detail, we've toiled to preserve the original yellowing to the original aniline finish, which is a tell-tale sign of the age of a red aniline chair (yellow = 50+ years old). New shockmounts installed throughout, including the correct lozenge style mount at the backrest. This chair is simply gorgeous. All Modern Conscience restorations carry a 5+ year guarantee.

All serious offers will be considered.
